2009 Northeast Emergency Vehicle Show & Expo
Will Be Saturday September 5th

Well the 1st Annual Northeast Indiana Emergency Vehicle Show & Expo is in the books. The show is dedicated to the men and women who are known as "first responders". It is their efforts and the equipment that they use that keeps us safe everyday. At this show the public saw several publicly and privately owned emergency vehicles from fire trucks, police cars and ambulances. There were 20 different agencies represented at this years show.

The day started out looking like it was going to be a gray and damp day, but the rain Gods were not able to pull it off and it actually turned out to be a very nice day. The day started out with Huntington County Rescue holding a 5-K run/walk fund raiser, at 8 am.

The overall winner of the race was, Jay Prichard from Van Wert, Ohio with a time of 18:30. Second place went to Ed Casper, with third place going to Garrett Davenport. Huntington County Rescue sponsored the event and they had 27 runners for this first time event. Everyone had great things to say about the race.

Tony Ehler is showing a young vistor as to what all the electronic equipment is used for.  The tailer is used for many different details, but it's primary function is for an I.C. center for large incidents.

The public was treated to demostrations by the Huntington City Fire Department as they use there flash over trailer to demostrate the effects of a fire inside a building.

Because the day started out rainy we were able to put all the vehicle for the most part under roof. To prevent the show cars from being out in the weather, but the day turned out to be sunny and dry.
