We are starting to put together the 2nd Annual Northeast Indiana Emergency Vehicle Show & Expo. I am extending an open invitation to any Emergency Responding Agency to attend this event. If you would like to have an active part in the program with demostrations or something along those lines please feel free to contact me and we will see what we can do. I would like to see more vehicles from our local fire, law enforcement, medical agencies involved but I also understand that we can't take everything out of service.
For those of you that privately own a emergency vehicle, collectors which I have found out there are many please consider attend this event and showing off your pride and joy. The public truly enjoys seeing the older vehicles and and are amazed at the stories behind them. Last year we had a total of 20 different agencies represented at the show. I would like to see that increase to about 30 this year. I would also like to see an increase in the private sector showing up to show off there personal vehicles that they have saved and or restored.
New this year: We are also having this be an open show to all makes and models of show vehicles, hot rods, motorcycles, low riders, cruisers etc. So mark your calendar and get this event on your palm pilot this is one you don't want to miss.
Again it is a rain or shine show, we do have buildings that we can put the vehicles inside out of the weather but as any car show guy will tell you they would rather be outside and in the sunlight.
Again Huntington County Rescue holding a 5-K run/walk fund raiser, at 8 am. The money raised from the run goes to support their program and assist them with purchasing tools that they use in their responses. Below are the winners and some pictures of last years race.
The overall winner of the race was, Jay Prichard from Van Wert, Ohio with a time of 18:30. Second place went to Ed Casper, with third place going to Garrett Davenport. Huntington County Rescue sponsored the event and they had 27 runners for this first time event. Everyone had great things to say about the race.

Tony Ehler is showing a young vistor as to what all the electronic equipment is used for. The tailer is used for many different details, but it's primary function is for an I.C. center for large incidents.
The public was treated to demostrations by the Huntington City Fire Department as they use there flash over trailer to demostrate the effects of a fire inside a building.

Because the day started out rainy we were able to put all the vehicle for the most part under roof. To prevent the show cars from being out in the weather, but the day turned out to be sunny and dry.
